Scheduler – Pangbourne (RG8) – Salary to £30,000

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Scheduler to join a growing and professional engineering services business. Working at the heart of the Service Department, you'll play a vital role in ensuring engineers are in the right place, at the right time, delivering exceptional service to customers across a variety of sites and projects.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys balancing priorities, solving problems, and coordinating people and resources in a fast-paced environment. You'll be the key link between customers, engineers, project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers, helping to ensure service delivery runs seamlessly from start to finish. 

As Service Coordinator, you'll take ownership of engineer scheduling, service administration, and job management activities, ensuring operational efficiency while delivering outstanding customer experiences.

This is a pivotal role where your organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to think ahead will directly contribute to the success of the business and its customers.

A bit more about the day to day….

Service & Engineer Scheduling

  • Coordinate and schedule engineers for reactive call-outs, maintenance visits, and planned works.
  • Manage engineer diaries to maximise productivity and service levels.
  • Work closely with operational teams, project managers, and department leaders to prioritise workloads and allocate resources effectively.
  • Ensure customer Service Level Agreements (SLAs) are consistently achieved.
  • Escalate resource or scheduling concerns where necessary.

Job Coordination & Administration

  • Create and manage jobs through the BigChange system.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date job records, notes, and customer information.
  • Arrange site permits, access requirements, and supporting documentation.
  • Request customer purchase orders where required.
  • Organise follow-up visits and engineer revisits.

Resource & Stock Management

  • Liaise with the Stock Manager to ensure materials and equipment are available for planned works.
  • Coordinate the ordering of plant, equipment, and specialist resources.
  • Monitor hired equipment and ensure timely off-hire to control costs.
  • Support engineers by ensuring they have everything needed to complete jobs successfully.

Project & Service Delivery Support

  • Work closely with subcontractors to ensure service commitments and deadlines are met.
  • Monitor the completion of preventative maintenance visits (PPMs).
  • Ensure completed service reports are processed accurately and promptly.

Commercial & Completion Activities

  • Process completed service sheets and job documentation.
  • Forward completed works for remedial quotations and invoicing.
  • Ensure all completed visits are updated and closed down correctly within the system.

A bit more about you….

  • Previous experience within a service coordination, scheduling, helpdesk, administration, or planning role.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking skills.
  • Strong communication skills and confidence dealing with both customers and internal teams.
  • A proactive and solutions-focused approach.
  • High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Experience working within an engineering, construction, facilities management, fire & security, or technical services environment would be highly advantageous.
