Temporary Caretaker – Immediate Start
Are you an experienced caretaker with a keen eye for detail?
We are currently recruiting for a reliable and proactive Caretaker to join a friendly school on the outskirts of Ipswich, on a temporary basis.
Position Details
- Role: Temporary Caretaker
- Location: Multi school site
- Hours: 37 hours per week (full-time)
- Pay: £14 per hour (paid weekly)
- Start Date: ASAP
- Duration: Initial until the end of July 2026 with potential weekly extensions and possible permanent opportunity
Shift Pattern
Monday – Thursday:
- Early Shift: 07:00 – 15:00
- Late Shift: 12:00 – 20:00
Friday:
- Early Shift: 07:00 – 14:30
- Late Shift: 12:00 – 19:30
Key Responsibilities
- Managing and carrying out ongoing repairs
- Overseeing and coordinating contractors on site
- Supporting the setup and smooth running of school events
- Handling waste management processes
- Maintaining accurate and up-to-date safety records
Requirements
- Previous caretaking or facilities experience preferred
- A DBS on the Update Service or willingness to apply
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
