School Chef Manager – Primary School (Bushey, WD23 1SR)

Hours: 30 hours per week (Term Time Only)
Salary: £14.50 – £15.00 per hour

About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Chef Manager to lead the kitchen at a small, friendly primary school in the Bushey area. You will be responsible for delivering high-quality, nutritious meals to approximately 150 pupils per day, ensuring a safe, efficient, and welcoming dining experience.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working in a school environment and values work-life balance, with term-time hours only.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and serve fresh, balanced meals in line with school food standards
- Manage all aspects of the kitchen, including food ordering, stock control, and budgeting
- Lead and support kitchen staff to ensure efficient daily service
- Maintain high standards of food hygiene, health & safety, and cleanliness
- Monitor portion control and reduce food waste
- Build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and stakeholders
- Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and company policies
About You
- Proven experience as a Chef or Chef Manager (ideally in a school or similar setting)
- Strong knowledge of food safety and hygiene regulations (Level 2/3 Food Safety preferred)
- Excellent organisational and leadership skills
- Passion for preparing healthy, appetising meals for children
- Ability to work independently and manage a small team
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain one)
