My client is an independent school, based just outside Winchester. They are looking to recruit a Management Accountant to join their finance team.
Supporting the Head of Finance, this role will have responsibility for providing a wide range of month end and transactional accounting requirements, alongside the overall production of management accounts to include analysis and commentary.
In more detail the role will:
- Ensure monthly financial statements are produced for all budget holders and ensure the school has quality financial information to support decision making.
- Proactively work with the Head to ensure budget holders are supported to resolve any concerns or difficulties with their financial performance.
- Preparation of the annual budgets and medium-term financial plan including ongoing budget management with key stakeholders
- VAT management and compliance, prepare and assist all VAT returns, assisting with VAT registration process
- Ensure accruals and pre-payments are updated accurately, working alongside the finance team members to ensure day to day transactional tasks are accurate
- Support payroll processes, including collating monthly payroll changes, checking payroll reports and liaising with payroll providers
Applications are sought from candidates either formally qualified or actively studying, ideally with experience of with working within schools in a similar role.
Previous experience within the education sector is essential and preferably within an independent school.
Both full time and part time hours will be considered.
