The Role
They are seeking an ambitious and passionate Teacher of Science to join their successful Science department. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 and contribute to a department that is committed to delivering engaging and challenging science education.
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering high-quality Science lessons that engage, challenge, and inspire students.
- Teaching Science across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the opportunity to teach a specialist science at Key Stage 5 for suitably qualified candidates.
- Creating a positive and stimulating classroom environment that supports excellent progress and achievement.
- Monitoring and assessing student progress, providing effective feedback and targeted support where required.
- Using a variety of teaching and learning strategies to meet the needs of all learners.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues to develop and enhance the Science curriculum.
- Promoting high standards of behaviour, attendance, and academic achievement.
- Supporting the school's commitment to safeguarding, wellbeing, and inclusion.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school through enrichment activities and extracurricular opportunities.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and have experience teaching Science at secondary level.
- Possess strong subject knowledge in Biology, Chemistry, Physics, or Combined Science.
- Demonstrate the ability to motivate and inspire students of varying abilities and backgrounds.
- Have excellent classroom management and communication skills.
- Be committed to achieving high standards of teaching, learning, and student outcomes.
- Have a strong understanding of assessment practices and data-driven improvement strategies.
- Be a collaborative team player with a commitment to ongoing professional development.
