Job Title: Teacher of Science
Responsible to: Head of Science
Purpose of the Role
To deliver high-quality Science teaching that inspires students, raises achievement, and supports their academic and personal development across KS3 and KS4 (KS5 desirable).
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated Science lessons.
- Assess, monitor and support student progress.
- Create a positive, inclusive and well-managed learning environment.
- Contribute to curriculum planning and departmental improvement.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues, parents and carers to support student achievement.
- Act as a Form Tutor where required.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of all students in line with school policies.
Person Specification
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
- Degree in a Science-related subject.
- Strong subject knowledge and effective classroom management.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- Commitment to high standards, inclusion, safeguarding and continuous professional development.
