Science Technician A well-regarded secondary school in Hounslow is looking to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Science Technician to support its busy Science department from September.

The appointed Science Technician will be responsible for supporting the delivery of engaging practical lessons across Biology, Chemistry, and Physics, ensuring all laboratories are fully prepared, safe, and efficiently organised.
The school has a strong culture of practical, hands-on learning and scientific enquiry, making it an ideal environment for someone who enjoys a varied and active laboratory role. Applicants with prior experience in a school or laboratory setting, strong practical science knowledge, and the confidence to support across multiple scientific disciplines may be considered for a higher rate of pay.
Responsibilities Prepare and organise equipment, chemicals, and materials for practical science sessions Maintain laboratory spaces, ensuring equipment is safe, clean, and fully functional Assist teaching staff during demonstrations and experimental work Monitor and manage stock control, including ordering and storing resources Adhere to all health and safety procedures within laboratory environments
Requirements Experience working in a school or laboratory environment is desirable Good understanding of laboratory health and safety practices Familiarity with scientific equipment and experimental procedures Strong organisational skills and attention to detail Ability to support Biology, Chemistry, and Physics practical lessons
