Part-Time DT Teacher (Food Technology & Textiles) – Bexley

Long-Term Contract | September Start – Easter

We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Design & Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Bexley on a part-time, long-term basis.

The Role

  • Start Date: September
  • Duration: Until Easter (long-term contract)
  • Working Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays
  • Subjects: Food Technology and Textiles
  • Key Stages: KS3 and KS4 (depending on experience)

This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to develop their skills in a well-resourced DT department.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons in Food Technology and Textiles
  • Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with the national curriculum
  • Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, particularly within practical classroom settings
  • Monitor and support student progress and attainment
  • Work collaboratively with department colleagues and wider school staff

The Ideal Candidate Will Have

  • QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
  • Experience teaching DT, specifically Food Tech and/or Textiles
  • Strong classroom management skills
  • A passion for creative and practical subjects
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
