Part-Time DT Teacher (Food Technology & Textiles) – Bexley
Long-Term Contract | September Start – Easter
We are seeking an enthusiastic and adaptable Design & Technology Teacher to join a supportive secondary school in Bexley on a part-time, long-term basis.
The Role
- Start Date: September
- Duration: Until Easter (long-term contract)
- Working Days: Wednesdays and Thursdays
- Subjects: Food Technology and Textiles
- Key Stages: KS3 and KS4 (depending on experience)
This is a fantastic opportunity for either an experienced teacher or a confident ECT looking to develop their skills in a well-resourced DT department.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and practical DT lessons in Food Technology and Textiles
- Plan, prepare, and assess student work in line with the national curriculum
- Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment, particularly within practical classroom settings
- Monitor and support student progress and attainment
- Work collaboratively with department colleagues and wider school staff
The Ideal Candidate Will Have
- QTS or equivalent teaching qualification
- Experience teaching DT, specifically Food Tech and/or Textiles
- Strong classroom management skills
- A passion for creative and practical subjects
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare
