Religious Education (RE) Teacher – Permanent Role (September Start)

Northampton | Full-Time | MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

Reed Education are working in partnership with a highly regarded secondary school in Northampton to recruit a passionate and knowledgeable Religious Education Teacher to join their team on a permanent basis from September 2026.

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a supportive Humanities faculty in a well-respected and forward-thinking school.

The Role

You will deliver engaging and thought-provoking Religious Education lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach KS5 depending on experience.

The role will involve encouraging students to explore a range of religious, philosophical, and ethical topics, developing their critical thinking, respect for diversity, and ability to form reasoned arguments.

Curriculum Focus

The RE curriculum covers a range of topics, including:

  • World religions and belief systems
  • Ethics and philosophy (e.g. morality, justice, human rights)
  • Social and cultural issues
  • Religious practices, texts, and traditions

The Ideal Candidate

  • QTS desirable but not essential
  • Experience teaching Religious Education in a secondary school is essential
  • Strong subject knowledge and a passion for the subject
  • Ability to engage students in discussion and debate
  • Excellent classroom management skills

ECTs are welcome to apply, particularly those with strong RE teaching placements.
