The Role
As a General Cover Teacher, you will deliver pre-planned lessons across a range of subjects at Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4), ensuring students remain engaged and on task during teacher absences.
Responsibilities
- Deliver pre-prepared lessons across a variety of secondary school subjects.
- Manage classroom behaviour effectively in line with school policies.
- Maintain a positive and productive learning environment.
- Ensure students complete the work set and remain focused throughout lessons.
- Adapt confidently to different school settings and classroom environments.
- Provide feedback to the relevant department or teaching staff following lessons.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of all students.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or equivalent teaching qualification.
- Experience teaching or working with secondary-aged students.
- Strong classroom management and communication skills.
- Flexibility and confidence to cover a range of subjects.
- A professional, proactive, and reliable approach.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting student wellbeing.
