A leading infrastructure contractor is seeking an experienced Section Engineer to support delivery on a major water treatment upgrade in the East Midlands. This is a key role on a high-profile scheme, offering long-term work on a technically challenging project.
The Role
As Section Engineer, you will take ownership of utility and infrastructure works packages across the site, ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient delivery. You will also act as a key link between subcontractors and the design team, ensuring clear communication and coordination of technical requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Day-to-day control of direct labour and subcontractors delivering HV/LV, water, drainage and communications (BT) infrastructure
- Preparation of work package plans, task briefings, RAMS and permits
- Coordination of traffic management and material procurement
- Management of site inductions, setting out, QA documentation and as-built records
- Overseeing inspections, snagging and quality compliance
- Acting as a principal point of contact between Project Managers, site teams and client stakeholders
- Bridging communication between subcontractors and the design team to resolve technical queries and ensure alignment
About You
- Proven experience as a Section Engineer or Senior Engineer or Agent within infrastructure or water projects
- Strong understanding of utilities coordination and multidisciplinary delivery
- Experience managing subcontractors and site teams
- Ability to liaise effectively with design teams and resolve on-site engineering issues
- Strong knowledge of health & safety standards, permits, and RAMS
