Job Title: Teaching Assistant (Special Educational Needs) Location: Scunthorpe Hours: Full-Time, Monday to Friday, 08:30 – 15:30
About the Role: We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school community in Scunthorpe. This is a full-time position, working closely with pupils who have special educational needs, including autism and ADHD. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping students access learning, develop social skills, and reach their full potential in a nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
– Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with additional needs – Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons – Support pupils with autism and ADHD in managing behaviour and staying focused – Help implement individual education plans (IEPs) and behaviour strategies – Foster a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment – Monitor and report on pupil progress and wellbeing
Requirements:
– Experience working with children or young people with special educational needs (desirable) – Understanding of autism and ADHD, and strategies to support these needs – Patient, empathetic, and adaptable approach – Strong communication and teamwork skills – A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
