Tradewind Recruitment are currently recruiting Learning Mentors to work in a specialist secondary school in Enfield that supports students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in education, youth work, support work, sports coaching, care, or mentoring who is looking for a rewarding role where no two days are the same.
The Role
As a Learning Mentor, you will:
- Provide 1:1 and small group support to students with SEMH needs.
- Build positive relationships to improve engagement, confidence and behaviour.
- Support students both in lessons and around the school.
- Work alongside teachers and pastoral staff to help students achieve their personal and academic goals.
- Promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
- Encourage independence, resilience and self-confidence.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working with children or young people.
- Has experience supporting individuals with SEMH, SEND, Autism, ADHD or challenging behaviour (desirable).
- Is patient, resilient and able to remain calm under pressure.
- Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Is passionate about helping young people reach their full potential.
- Holds an enhanced DBS on the Update Service or is willing to apply for one.
