Are you passionate about supporting children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs? Do you have experience working with children who require additional support to access education and reach their full potential?
Tradewind Recruitment is currently seeking dedicated and resilient Primary SEMH Teaching Assistants to work across a range of partner primary schools throughout Northampton and the surrounding areas. These rewarding roles involve supporting pupils with SEMH needs, Autism, ADHD, attachment difficulties, trauma-related needs, and challenging behaviour both within the classroom and through targeted interventions.
As a Primary SEMH Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in helping pupils regulate emotions, build positive relationships, develop confidence, and engage successfully in learning. You may provide 1:1 support, deliver small group interventions, or work alongside class teachers to implement personalised strategies that promote inclusion and positive outcomes.
The successful candidate will:
- Have experience working with children or young people with SEMH, SEND, or behavioural needs.
- Demonstrate patience, resilience, and a nurturing approach.
- Be confident supporting pupils with emotional regulation and behaviour management.
- Have strong communication and relationship-building skills.
- Be committed to safeguarding and promoting pupil wellbeing.
- Hold a relevant qualification or possess transferable experience from education, care, youth work, coaching, or support work settings.
