Prospero Teaching
I hope you are well. We have received a new tuition opportunity for a Year 10 student based in the DT2 area. The provision would initially be 1 hour per week, focusing on English and Maths, with the potential to increase hours over time.
The young person is currently out of school due to barriers relating to the school environment, rather than ability, and will require a tutor who can build a strong, supportive relationship to support engagement alongside academic progress.
A baseline assessment will be important to determine whether a GCSE or Functional Skills pathway is most appropriate, given the timeframe leading into Year 11.
Key details: – Initially 1 hour per week ( intention to increase ) · Location: DT2 (flexible with venue, including community settings if required. · The primary aim of the tuition is to support achievement in Maths and English qualifications (GCSE or Functional Skills) to enable college entry. The young person presents with anxiety and EBSA, so engagement and relationship-building will be the key to success. · They would benefit from a patient, flexible tutor who can adapt sessions to reduce pressure, build confidence, and support gradual re-engagement with learning.
