Our client is seeking a Accounts Assistant to join their growing team. You'll play a key role in providing exceptional accounting services to our clients. Due to the entrepreneurial clients that they work with, they often find their work involves forward forecasting and reports and therefore not just a compliant service mindset would be important.
Our client is based on the outskirts of Ipswich.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Prepare statutory accounts and corporation tax returns
- Prepare VAT returns and assist with VAT queries
- Prepare personal tax returns
- Assist with bookkeeping and review basic bookkeeping work
- Support the preparation of management accounts and client reports
- Communicate with clients to obtain information and resolve queries
- Liaise with HMRC when required
- Assist with audits and tax planning assignments
- Ensure work is accurate and meets regulatory requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Studying AAT level 3/4 or AAT qualified / studying ACA/ACA
- Previous experience within an accountancy practice
- Good understanding of accounts preparation and tax basics
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Exposure to a range of clients and industries (desirable)
- Some audit experience (desirable)
