Semi-skilled Operative – Machine Shop
Pay Rate: £16.33 (£14.20/hr plus 15% Shift Allowance)
Hours: 36hrs. Mon – Thurs / with 30min break. Fri / .
Location: Middleton, Manchester
Duration: 6 months with a high possibility of becoming permanent.
As a Semi-Skilled Machine Shop Operative at our clients Greengate Business Unit you will Conduct semi-skilled duties within the machine shop. You will be keen to take on challenges, develop your leadership and or skills potential as well as expand your knowledge and experience through a variety of exciting initiatives.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deburring, polishing + part marking duties as required.
- Painting + stamping/ stencil of product as required.
- Relevant administration duties, e.g. route cards.
- FLT duties as required.
- General housekeeping duties.
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly and perform basic preventative maintenance functions on equipment.
- Perform any other work related tasks and duties in accordance with the business needs.
- Comply with all NOV Company and HSE policy and procedures.
- Travel as and when required
- Carry out other duties as and when business requirements dictate as may be reasonably expected by line manager
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Experience within a manufacturing environment and FLT license (desirable)
-Engineering experience with metal
- -Using handtools, grinding tools, etc, for deburring, polishing, etc.
- FLT license highly desirable but not a requirement

Qualifications:
- FLT Licence (desirable)
Experience:
- Familiar in working within a high productivity machine shop environment (required)
Skills, training or special knowledge:
- Computer literacy (required)
- Manual handling, slinging and lifting (required)
- HSE awareness (required)
Quality Assurance:
- Carry out all duties in accordance with the Quality Assurance procedures and department/area work instructions.
- Contribute to general improvements in the quality and key activities of the department/area.
Training:
- Participate in training where required.
Health, Safety and Environment:
- Carry out all duties safely and in accordance with the Health & Safety Policy, Employee Handbook, procedures, training and instruction.
- To be safety conscious and report any safety hazards to the HSE representative.
