Job Title: SEN Base Teacher / Special Educational Needs Teacher – Runcorn

Randstad Education is seeking a dedicated SEN Base Teacher to lead a specialist classroom within a Runcorn school. This is a long-term, full-time position tailored for an educator specialising in complex needs, ASD, and SEMH.

£150 – £220 per day (Dependent on experience / SEN allowance applicable)
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SEN Teacher to take charge of a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) base within a mainstream or specialist school in Runcorn. You will adapt and deliver a highly individualized curriculum designed for children with complex learning barriers, communication difficulties, and sensory needs.
Key Responsibilities:

Creating tailored, highly differentiated lesson plans aligned with pupils' EHCPs (Education, Health and Care Plans).

Utilizing communication tools such as PECS, Makaton, or visual timetables to support non-verbal or pre-verbal learners.

Leading a team of specialist SEND Teaching Assistants to ensure a safe, therapeutic learning environment.

De-escalating challenging behaviors using positive intervention and nurture-based frameworks.
Requirements & Qualifications:

Must hold UK Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognized specialized teaching qualification.

Significant experience working within an SEN school, resource provision, or specialist SEN base.

Deep understanding of severe learning difficulties (SLD), Autism (ASD), and Speech & Language needs.

Team Teach or positive handling training is highly desirable but not essential.
