Academics is recruiting on behalf of a welcoming primary school in Brighton for a SEN Learning Support Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support to a pupil in Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a real difference in a child's educational journey while working within a supportive and inclusive school.
The Role
As an SEN Learning Support Assistant, you will:
- Provide dedicated 1:1 support for a KS2 pupil with additional needs.
- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo to implement personalised learning and support strategies.
- Support the pupil's academic progress, social development and emotional wellbeing.
- Adapt learning activities to meet the child's individual needs.
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive behaviour.
- Build a strong, trusting relationship with the pupil while working collaboratively with school staff and parents.
The Ideal Candidate
- Has previous experience supporting children with SEN in a school or similar setting.
- Has experience working with needs such as ASD, ADHD, speech and language needs or SEMH (desirable).
- Is patient, caring and resilient.
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Is committed to helping children achieve their full potential.
