Working within a supportive SEN environment, you will play a key role in helping students achieve both their physical and personal development goals, creating positive experiences that encourage participation, independence, and success.
Key Responsibilities – SEN PE Teacher, Milton Keynes
- Plan and deliver engaging, inclusive PE lessons tailored to the individual needs of SEN pupils
- Adapt sports, activities, and teaching approaches to ensure all students can participate and achieve success
- Promote physical wellbeing, confidence, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles
- Support students with a range of additional needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and moderate learning difficulties
- Create a positive, safe, and structured learning environment that encourages participation and personal growth
- Assess and monitor student progress, celebrating achievements and adapting support where required
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, therapists, pastoral teams, and parents to support pupil development
- Contribute to extracurricular activities, sports events, and wider school enrichment opportunities where appropriate
The Ideal Candidate – SEN PE Teacher, Milton Keynes
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent
- PE specialist with experience teaching Physical Education across Key Stages
- Experience working with students with special educational needs, or a strong desire to develop within an SEN setting
- Excellent behaviour management and relationship-building skills
- Creative, adaptable, and enthusiastic approach to teaching
- Strong commitment to inclusion and pupil wellbeing
- Passion for helping young people develop confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards physical activity
