SEN Support Teaching Assistant – Southwark
Are you an experienced SEN Support Teaching Assistant looking for flexible opportunities across Southwark and South East London?
Remedy are working with welcoming mainstream primary schools throughout Southwark who are seeking committed SEN Support Teaching Assistants to provide dedicated 1:1 support for pupils with additional needs. This temporary, ongoing supply role is ideal for candidates who enjoy supporting children to achieve both academically and personally.
Position: SEN Support Teaching Assistant
Location: Southwark, South East London
Contract: Temporary, Full time, Monday to Friday
Pay: £100 – £120 per day
Start Date: September 2026
About the Role
As a SEN Support Teaching Assistant in Southwark, you will work on a 1:1 basis with pupils within mainstream primary schools, supporting children with a range of additional needs including Autism (ASD), ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties.
The SEN Support Teaching Assistant role focuses on helping pupils access learning, develop confidence and independence, and engage positively within the classroom while working closely with teachers and school SEN teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver dedicated 1:1 support within mainstream classrooms
- Assist pupils in accessing classroom activities
- Support EHCP targets and personalised learning strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families
- Work alongside teachers and SENCOs to support progress
- Maintain safeguarding and child protection standards
Candidate Requirements
- Experience supporting children with SEN or additional needs
- Knowledge of ASD, ADHD, SEMH or speech and language needs
- Patient, nurturing and reliable approach
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply)
