SEN Teaching Assistant
Aspire is recruiting passionate and committed SEN Teaching Assistants to work within specialist educational settings, supporting students with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, and associated behavioural challenges.
This role offers the opportunity to make a lasting impact on the lives of young people who require additional support to engage in education, develop essential life skills, and achieve their individual goals.
The schools we work with provide a supportive and structured environment where every student is encouraged to succeed. All pupils have an Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP), with learning and support tailored to their unique needs. Staff are dedicated to creating positive outcomes through consistency, patience, and a child-centred approach.
### Key Responsibilities
* Providing individual and small-group support to students across the school day * Supporting pupils with ASC, SEMH needs, and behaviours that may challenge * Encouraging engagement, participation, and independence in learning * Promoting positive behaviour and helping students develop emotional regulation skills * Assisting teaching staff in delivering personalised learning activities * Building trusting relationships that help students feel safe, supported, and understood * Working collaboratively with teachers, support staff, parents, and external professionals
### What We're Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people in education, care, youth work, residential support, or similar settings * Knowledge or understanding of SEN, ASC, SEMH, and behaviour support * Strong communication and interpersonal skills * A calm, adaptable, and resilient approach * The ability to remain positive and proactive in challenging situations * A genuine desire to support young people in reaching their full potential
