SEND Teacher – EYFS/PMLD | Long-Term Supply | Harrow
Tradewind Recruitment is working in partnership with a specialist SEND school in Harrow to recruit a dedicated and compassionate qualified teacher for a long-term supply opportunity.
This role is ideal for an experienced SEND teacher who is passionate about supporting pupils with complex learning needs in a highly supportive and well-resourced environment.
The Role:
- Full-time, long-term supply position
- EYFS curriculum
- Teaching a class of 6-8 pupils, grouped by ability rather than age
- Four teaching classes across the provision
- Planning is already in place, providing a smooth transition into the role
- Opportunity to complete a paid day trial, allowing you to experience a couple of different classes before committing
The Pupils:
You will be supporting pupils with a range of complex needs, including:
- Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD)
- Low-functioning autism and complex SEND
- Wheelchair users
- Pupils requiring hoisting and tube feeding
- Personal care requirements
Communication is supported through Co-Boards, and the school also uses CARMS intervention strategies to maximise pupil engagement and development.
The Support:
- Excellent staffing ratios, with one Learning Support Assistant for every two pupils
- Collaborative teaching environment with experienced staff
- Comprehensive planning and ongoing support from the wider team
The Ideal Candidate:
- Holds Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – ECTs cannot be considered for this role
- Has previous experience working within a specialist SEND school
- Confident supporting pupils with PMLD and complex learning needs
- Comfortable with personal care and working alongside medical and therapy teams
- Patient, adaptable, and committed to providing outstanding outcomes for every pupil
