SEN Teaching Assistant

If you are looking for your next role supporting SEND students within Mainstream Primary Schools, Tradewind want to hear from you!

We are currently looking for several Full Time Teaching Assistants to work with some of our fantastic schools based in South Liverpool. Summer 2026 and Long Term roles for September 2026 are both available for our Full Time roles.

To be successful you will need past experience working with SEND children, particularly Autism and ADHD and be able to manage challenging behaviours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted behaviour and learning support to pupils with a range of SEND needs.

  • Implement, review and contribute to Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour support strategies.

  • Work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and external agencies to ensure a consistent and effective approach for each child.

  • Promote a positive, nurturing, and inclusive classroom environment where every pupil feels safe and supported.

  • Use de-escalation and positive behaviour management techniques to help pupils regulate and engage.

What We're Looking For

  • Experience supporting children with SEN or challenging behaviour, ideally in a school or care setting.

  • A patient, resilient and caring approach.

  • Strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

  • Excellent communication skills and a proactive attitude towards engaging pupils in their learning.

  • Child-related Manual Handling qualifications are highly desired and previous experience supporting children with challenging behaviour is essential for the role
