SEN Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support (Year 5 Pupil)
Location: Doncaster
Full-Time: Term Time Only
Start Date: September 2026
Tradewind Recruitment are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support a Year 5 pupil on a 1:1 basis at a welcoming primary school in Doncaster.
This rewarding role involves working closely with a pupil who requires additional support to access learning, build confidence, and develop positive relationships within the school environment. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping the pupil achieve their full potential both academically and socially.
The Role:
- Providing tailored 1:1 support for a Year 5 pupil with Special Educational Needs.
- Supporting the pupil's learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing throughout the school day.
- Working collaboratively with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to implement support strategies.
- Encouraging independence, confidence, and positive behaviour.
- Monitoring progress and contributing to pupil reviews where required.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience supporting children with SEN, either in a school or similar setting.
- A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs.
