About the Role
We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive and well-established Special Educational Needs (SEN) school. This is a full-time position starting immediately, with the opportunity to transition into a permanent role from September for the right candidate.
You will play a vital role in supporting pupils with a range of additional needs, helping them to access learning in a safe, inclusive, and engaging environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide tailored 1:1 and small group support to pupils with special educational needs
- Assist the class teacher in delivering and adapting lessons to meet individual needs
- Support pupils with communication, social, emotional, and behavioural development
- Promote a positive and nurturing learning environment
- Implement care plans and behaviour support strategies
- Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and other professionals
About You
- Previous experience working with children with SEN (e.g., autism, SEMH, learning difficulties) is highly desirable
- A caring, patient, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
