About the Role We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to join a supportive team in Chesterfield. This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to achieve their full potential in a nurturing and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities
Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of SEN needs, including autism, ADHD, and speech and language difficulties. Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and differentiated lessons. Implement individual education plans (IEPs) and monitor progress. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment. Support pupils with personal care and emotional regulation when required. Communicate effectively with parents, carers, and external professionals.
Requirements
Previous experience working with children with SEN (school-based experience preferred). Strong understanding of SEN strategies and interventions. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to remain calm and patient under pressure. Relevant qualifications (e.g., Level 2/3 Teaching Assistant or equivalent) are desirable.
