We’re working with SEN schools and Pupil Referral Units across Middlesbrough who are looking for calm, compassionate Teaching Assistants to support pupils who need a bit more understanding, structure, and patience.
If you’ve got experience in SEN and a steady, can-do approach, you’ll fit right in.
What’s the role?
You’ll be supporting students with a range of additional needs, helping them feel safe, engaged, and ready to learn.
No two days are the same, but that’s part of the magic.
You might be:
- Supporting pupils with ASD, ADHD, SEMH, Autism or PMLD
- Working 1:1 or in small groups
- Helping manage behaviour and build trust
- Creating a calm, structured environment where students can thrive

What you’ll need
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN
- Confidence supporting needs like ASD, ADHD, SEMH, PMLD and challenging behaviours
- A calm, patient, and resilient approach
- SEN qualification or a care-based qualification
- An enhanced DBS on the Update Service (essential)
- References ready for clearance

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
