Prospero Teaching is looking for passionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with complex needs in a resource base provision within a Primary School in Handsworth, Birmingham.
The school is an OFSTED rated Good mainstream Primary School with a supportive senior leadership team. They are looking for enthusiastic and nurturing SEN support staff who can develop good relationships with children with additional needs.
This is a full-time role to start September 2026 and will continue for the rest of the academic year.
Previous experience working with special needs, challenging behaviour, and personal care assistance is essential – the ideal candidate will have previously worked in a SEN school setting or provision.
CONTRACT/POSITION DETAILS · Location – Handsworth, Birmingham · Position – SEN TA – 1:1 / Group Support · Type of work – SEN Teaching Assistant – Supporting children with complex needs · Start date – September 2026 · Duration / Likely Duration – Long term opportunity for the full academic year · Contract type – Temporary · Full time/part time – Full time (term time only) ·· Hours – 8:30 – 3:30 (full day)
EXPERIENCE, TRAINING AND QUALIFICATIONS · Level 2 or 3 Teaching Assistant qualifications · Previous experience working in a UK school – in either permanent or long-term roles · Previous experience working with SEND in either mainstream or SEN school or education settings
TO BE ELIGIBLE FOR THIS ROLE THROUGH PROSPERO TEACHING, YOU MUST: · Hold Right to Work in the UK · Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application · Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
