Senior Associate – Non-Contentious Construction
Location: Central London
Salary: £115,000 – £135,000

Overview & Opportunity
Achieve Professionals are working on behalf of a well-established and highly regarded London law firm to recruit a Senior Associate to join its growing Construction team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Non-Contentious Construction Solicitor to join a collaborative team advising developers, investors, landlords, contractors and consultants on a broad range of high-value construction and development projects. The team is recognised for its expertise in building safety and remediation work, offering exposure to complex and market-leading instructions.
The successful candidate will play a key role in the continued growth of the team, working closely with partners and colleagues across the wider Property practice while enjoying genuine opportunities for career progression.
The Role
As a Senior Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Managing a varied caseload of non-contentious construction matters from instruction through to completion.
- Drafting, reviewing and negotiating a broad range of construction documentation, including:
- Construction contracts (JCT and NEC)
- Professional appointments
- Development agreements
- Construction aspects of Agreements for Lease
- Collateral warranties
- Parent company guarantees
- Performance bonds
- Advising clients on procurement strategies, contractual risk allocation and project delivery.
- Supporting commercial property and development transactions with specialist construction advice.
- Advising on building safety and remediation matters, including issues arising under the Building Safety Act.
- Building and maintaining strong client relationships while delivering commercially focused legal advice.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues across the Property team and other practice areas.
- Supervising and mentoring junior members of the team where appropriate.
- Actively contributing to business development initiatives and helping to grow the Construction practice.
- Managing matters efficiently, including time recording and billing in accordance with firm procedures.
- Keeping up to date with legal developments and maintaining continued professional development.
Requirements
The successful candidate will have:
- Qualified Solicitor in England &Wales with significant experience (8years+ PQE) in non-contentious construction law.
- Extensive experience drafting and negotiating construction documentation for commercial development projects.
- Strong knowledge of standard form construction contracts, particularly JCT and NEC.
- Experience advising developers, landlords, investors, contractors and consultants.
- Excellent drafting, negotiation and communication skills.
- A commercial and pragmatic approach to advising clients.
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines.
- Proven ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Experience supervising junior lawyers would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach to business development and networking.
- Knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Safety Fund or Developer Remediation Contract would be beneficial, although not essential.
- A collaborative, positive and solutions-focused approach to practice.
