An excellent opportunity has arisen for an Audit Senior to join a highly regarded accountancy firm with a strong reputation for delivering quality advice to a diverse client base. Working within a supportive and collaborative team, you will gain exposure to a broad range of clients, complex assignments, and clear progression opportunities.
This position offers a varied workload, combining approximately 80% audit and 20% accounts preparation, making it ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of client-facing audit work and technical accounting responsibilities.
The Audit Senior will work closely with managers and partners while supporting the development of junior team members across a varied portfolio of clients operating within the accountancy sector.
What you'll be doing
- Planning, leading and delivering audit assignments from start to completion.
- Managing audit engagements for a wide-ranging client portfolio, including larger and more complex organisations.
- Supervising, mentoring and reviewing the work of junior team members.
- Preparing statutory and consolidated financial statements under FRS102.
- Producing draft corporation tax computations.
- Identifying audit findings and preparing recommendations for management.
- Assisting with group reporting requirements and component audit assignments.
- Supporting the preparation of accounts for limited companies, partnerships and LLPs.
- Ensuring assignments are delivered to agreed deadlines and budgets.
- Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a trusted point of contact throughout engagements.
What we're looking for
- ACA or ACCA qualified, or approaching qualification.
- At least 2.5 years' experience gained within a UK accountancy practice environment.
- Strong audit experience across a variety of client sectors.
- Good technical knowledge of auditing and financial reporting standards.
- Experience reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
- Confident communicator with strong client relationship skills.
- Ability to manage multiple assignments and prioritise effectively.
- Familiarity with audit and accounts software packages would be advantageous.
- A proactive approach and desire to continue developing within the accountancy profession.
