Are you a passionate and skilled chocolatier looking for an opportunity to lead, innovate and make a real impact? We are seeking an experienced Senior Chocolatier to take ownership of a growing artisan chocolate enterprise based in a beautiful rural setting in North Yorkshire.
This is a unique role combining hands-on production, product development, and team leadership, with the added opportunity to support training and development programmes within a supportive and purpose-driven environment.
About the Role
As Senior Chocolatier, you will be responsible for the end-to-end chocolate production process, ensuring exceptional product quality, driving innovation, and supporting the ongoing development of the enterprise.
You’ll lead a small team, oversee operations, and play a key role in expanding the product range while maintaining high food safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate daily chocolate production
- Oversee the full process from concept to finished product, ensuring high presentation standards
- Develop new product lines and explore innovative ingredients to enhance sales
- Assess the commercial viability of new ideas and bring them to market
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations
- Maintain accurate product traceability and documentation
- Coach, mentor, and inspire team members to maximise productivity
- Support and guide trainees and volunteers involved in production
- Represent the business at events, fairs, and promotional activities
- Plan and deliver chocolate-making workshops
About You
We’re looking for someone who is both creative and commercially aware, with strong technical expertise and a collaborative leadership style.
You will ideally have:
- Proven experience in chocolate production or artisanal food manufacturing
- Creativity and passion for product development
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and compliance
- Experience leading or mentoring a team
- A proactive, flexible approach and the ability to work in a dynamic environment
- Confidence representing a brand at external events
