Senior Client Development Manager
Location: Liverpool
Monday-Friday, 38 hours per week
The role:
We’re on the lookout for a Senior Client Development Manager to join our Commercial Team at MBL Solutions in the heart of Liverpool. This isn’t just another account management role, it’s about being at the centre of our relationships with some of the UK’s leading retailers such as Greggs, schuh, Matalan, Hobbycraft, Tapi Carpets, B&M Stores helping them grow while driving success for MBL.
You’ll be the trusted partner for a portfolio of high-profile clients, making sure they get the very best from us. That means growing existing relationships, spotting cross-sell and up-sell opportunities, and welcoming new retailer clients into the fold. You’ll also play a big part in shaping the sales strategy, using our tech and expertise to quickly embed clients into the right channels.
This is a hybrid role, blending time in our vibrant Liverpool city centre office or our Newcastle office with flexibility to work from home (2 days at home and 3 days in the office). We’re a people-first business, but we also know the value of face-to-face time with clients, so a driving licence and willingness to travel are essential.
Contracted hours are 38 per week, Monday to Friday but more importantly, we’re looking for someone who brings drive, energy, and a passion for building brilliant client partnerships.
Main responsibilities:
- Define the Plan to Achieve Budget
- Develop the plan and implement the approach for your Team that delivers and exceeds annual sales budget objectives
- Deliver a programme of activity that achieves retention (volume and client numbers) and budget
- Deliver new revenue opportunities within existing accounts, including upselling, cross-selling, and introducing further products and solutions
- Management of client sales activity to be informed by reporting and analytics, supported with client development plans
- Support manager in forecasting revenue and reporting accordingly – for month, quarter and year end
- Support manager in developing, monitoring and reporting clear KPIs in sales, growth, client retention rates, cross-/up-sell, and client satisfaction/NPS
- Personally manage the relationship with a portfolio of clients
- Deliver a programme of activity that delivers retention and margin budget and targets
- Position and promote the business as an expert in supporting clients to attract and retain employees and customers in the gift card industry
- Effectively manage inbound new business leads, maximising conversion rates, to deliver the annual sales budget objective
- Ensure that the there is an appropriate plan that supports the delivery of the overall budget
- Collaborate closely with the Operations team to ensure delivery to clients and ensure the right task is owned by the right function
- Liaise with Marketing to ensure there is a Marketing plan for your client portfolio
To succeed you’ll have:
- Degree-equivalent education
- 3+ years’ experience of leading sales and account development teams
- Knowledge & experience of selling & developing business in the B2B market.
- Knowledge and experience of the Gift card and Voucher market
- Knowledge and experience of working with high profile retailers

- First class communicator and presenter utilising all the latest technologies

- Knowledge and ability to utilise:
