Senior Costs Lawyer / Senior Costs Draftsperson (Legal Aid)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Senior Costs Lawyer or Senior Costs Draftsperson to join a highly respected in-house legal team specialising in publicly funded family law. This role offers the chance to work on complex legal aid matters while contributing to the ongoing development of billing processes within a collaborative and supportive environment.

The Role
You'll play a key role in ensuring the accurate preparation and management of complex legal aid costs, including:
- Drafting detailed and high-value legal aid bills.
- Managing complex costs matters from instruction through to submission.
- Preparing claims in line with Legal Aid Agency (LAA) requirements.
- Supporting the development and improvement of electronic billing and data management processes.
- Contributing to reporting, quality assurance and compliance activities.
- Working closely with colleagues to maintain exceptional standards across the legal aid costs function.
About You
We're looking for someone who brings:
- Significant experience in legal aid costs drafting or costs law.
- A thorough understanding of Legal Aid billing and associated regulations.
- Strong working knowledge of the Client and Cost Management System (CCMS).
- Excellent IT skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Strong communication and organisational abilities.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
