Senior Counsel – Legal and Compliance
My client is a specialist institution with a significant global footprint
It is now seeking a key individual to lead the legal , compliance , regulatory and governance function and its strategic profile
Reporting directly to the CEO you will be the most senior advisor on legal and compliance topics , translating complex legal , compliance , regulatory and market developments into clear strategic options
The role will also serve as the first line of defence in relation to legal , compliance , regulatory and reputational risk
The role will be London based , and hybrid in its nature.
Some international travel is likely
A full specification is available however
Key responsibilities will include inter alia :
- Define and lead legal and compliance strategy
- Lead advisor to the Board
- Capably translate external developments for an internal audience
- Lead and develop legal and compliance frameworks
- Provide legal advice
- Compliance framework , due diligence, and monitoring
- Stakeholder Management
Qualifications
Qualified Lawyer in England and Wales or close equivalent
Significant PQE
Experienced in managing high-profile projects
Highly experienced in leading legal and or compliance functions – ideally both
Financial services , or related , experience would be highly beneficial
