Join our Adults and Children’s Shared Services Performance Improvement Team as a highly skilled, motivated, and forward-thinking Senior Data Analyst, and play a pivotal role in delivering insight and intelligence across the Adults’ Health and Care Directorate. This role offers an exceptional opportunity to apply your analytical expertise in a position where data directly informs decisions that improve outcomes for vulnerable residents.

As part of a highly regarded Business Intelligence function, you’ll transform complex datasets into meaningful insights, leveraging modern tools such as Azure and Power BI to influence services and support a period of significant transformation, including local government restructuring. You’ll help drive the development of high-quality management and performance information that supports both strategic and operational decision-making.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead the design and delivery of high-quality management information and performance reporting across Adults’ Health and Care.
  • Extract, manipulate, and analyse complex datasets using SQL Server.
  • Design and build engaging and visually compelling Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for a range of stakeholders.
  • Capture business requirements and develop specifications for reporting solutions.
  • Combine and analyse data from multiple sources to create unified datasets.
  • Work with operational and project leads to support performance frameworks and service improvements, contributing to transformation programmes.

What we’re looking for:

  • Significant experience in an IT support environment, with strong expertise in relational databases and complex SQL queries (e.g. SQL Server).
  • Previous experience of working within local government or Health with an understanding of the nature of public services delivery particular in a social care or health setting. 
  • Proven expertise in Power BI, including Power Query and Power Automate.
  • Advanced Excel skills and ability to analyse large, complex datasets.
  • Solid understanding of data modelling, database design, and data structures.
  • Ability to communicate technical insights to non-technical audiences.
  • Strong analytical thinking, with the ability to solve problems, innovate, and work independently under pressure.
