Role:- Senior Design Engineer
Location:- Peterborough, Cambridgeshire
Work Schedule:- 5 days in-office (ad-hoc flexibility aligned to business needs)
Type:- PAYE Contract Inside IR35
Rate:- £37-40.46 PH PAYE (Pension, Holiday)
Duration:- 24 Months
The successful applicant will join a team supporting new product component introductions. You'll deliver complex design solutions across global manufacturing, suppliers and internal stakeholders.
The Role
- Design/package components: aluminium & cast iron castings, gear-train, valve-train, drive-train, in-cylinder parts
- Input to breather, cooling, FEAD and lubrication system development
- Lead FMEA/risk assessment, design reviews and validation needs definition
- Produce drawings/technical data to internal standards for prototype and volume release
- Manage deliverable mile stones, and collaborate with suppliers using Advanced Product Quality Planning APQP tools
Essential Experience
- CREO10 expert; 6+ years CAD design experience
- Strong engine or mechanical systems knowledge (incl. bolted joints, sealing)
- Good understanding of casting, machining and manufacturing assembly principles
- Strong communication, teamwork and self-management
- HNC or technical degree preferred (mechanical/automotive) or equivalent experience
- Not essential but beneficial to have:- Product Lifecycle Management PLM Tools experience, validation & verification, diesel, alternative fuels which are spark ignited.
