Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electro-mechanical products using 3D CAD software.
- Produce detailed manufacturing drawings and engineering documentation.
- Carry out design verification through simulation and analysis tools.
- Build, test and refine prototypes through development and certification phases.
- Collaborate with technical, manufacturing and commercial teams across multiple international locations.
- Create and maintain installation, operation and maintenance documentation.
- Provide technical support throughout the product lifecycle.
- Support customer projects, including occasional site visits, technical reviews, commissioning activities and troubleshooting.
- Work closely with manufacturing facilities to support product introduction, assembly processes and testing procedures.
About You
We are seeking a hands-on and enthusiastic Design Engineer with experience developing electro-mechanical products.
Experience within switchgear, power distribution, electrical equipment or industrial machinery would be highly advantageous, although candidates from other relevant engineering sectors will also be considered.
You will enjoy taking products from initial concept through to manufacture and will be comfortable balancing design, analysis, testing and practical engineering activities.
The ideal candidate will possess a strong blend of mechanical and electrical engineering understanding, combined with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 5 years' experience using 3D CAD software within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong mechanical design capability
- Good understanding of electrical engineering principles
- Ability to perform engineering calculations and technical analysis
- Experience using SolidWorks and associated simulation tools
- Experience producing electrical schematics and wiring diagrams using AutoCAD or similar software
- Experience with electromagnetic, FEA and/or CFD simulation packages
- Experience designing products to international standards
- Knowledge of automation, embedded systems or microcontroller programming
- Experience writing scripts or software to automate engineering tasks
- Practical workshop or machining experience
