Job Title: Senior Earthing Design Engineer
Location: Bristol (Bristol & Bath Science Park)

The Opportunity
This is a key position within a high-performing design team, offering the opportunity to lead the delivery of earthing and lightning protection solutions across major infrastructure and high-voltage projects. The role will suit an experienced engineer looking to combine technical expertise with leadership responsibility in a forward-thinking environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and delivery of earthing and lightning protection systems for HV and substation projects
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to a growing design team
- Manage multiple projects from concept through to detailed design and completion
- Contribute to substation design, high-voltage systems, and FEED studies
- Ensure compliance with industry standards and best practice
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement in earthing design methodologies
- Conduct design reviews and ensure robust quality assurance across all deliverables
About You
- Degree qualified in Electrical Engineering or related discipline (Master’s advantageous)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng) or working towards
- Minimum 3+ years’ experience in earthing design
- Strong knowledge of earthing principles and lightning protection systems
- Experience with XGSLab and/or CDEGS software
- Understanding of substation design, HV systems, and FEED studies
- Strong leadership capability with experience mentoring or guiding engineers
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly
- Highly analytical with strong problem-solving ability
