Job Title: Senior Electrical Design Engineer
Location: Rugeley
Salary: £DOE
Due to continued growth, we are looking to appoint a Senior Electrical Design Engineer to join our client based in Rugeley, with flexible hybrid working available.
In this role, you will play a key part in designing and developing electrical systems for cutting-edge defence programmes, working alongside multidisciplinary teams to deliver innovative solutions from concept through to implementation.
What you will be doing:
- Designing and developing detailed electrical schematics and system designs
- Producing and capturing electrical requirements and technical documentation
- Selecting cables, protection devices and electrical components
- Reviewing and approving electrical designs to ensure compliance with industry standards
- Analysing and optimising electrical systems for performance, safety and reliability
- Supporting engineering projects throughout the full design lifecycle
- Collaborating with engineering, project and wider technical teams
- Participating in technical reviews, customer meetings and design discussions
What we are looking for:
- HNC (or above) in Electrical or Electronic Engineering
- Experience designing electrical systems and producing electrical schematics
- Knowledge of electrical standards and best engineering practice
- Experience specifying electrical components and reviewing designs
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work within multidisciplinary teams
- A proactive, adaptable approach with excellent problem-solving skills
Desirable:
- Experience using Zuken E3
- Knowledge of electronic systems
- Previous experience within defence, maritime, aerospace or other highly regulated engineering environments
