Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant
Location: Leeds
Salary: £35,000 – £45,000
An established multidisciplinary engineering consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to take a leading role in the delivery of a wide range of brownfield redevelopment, contaminated land and environmental assessment projects while mentoring junior staff and building strong client relationships.
Working alongside experienced geotechnical, geoenvironmental and civil engineering professionals, you'll be involved in projects across the residential, commercial, industrial, energy and infrastructure sectors, providing technical expertise from initial site assessment through to project completion.
The Role
As a Senior Geoenvironmental Consultant, you will manage and deliver technically challenging projects, oversee site investigations and environmental risk assessments, and provide practical remediation solutions. You'll also play an important role in supporting business development and maintaining long-term client relationships.
Key Responsibilities
- Managing geoenvironmental and contaminated land projects from inception through to completion.
- Designing, supervising and interpreting Phase I and Phase II site investigations.
- Producing and reviewing technical reports, including Preliminary Risk Assessments, Ground Investigation Reports, Generic and Detailed Quantitative Risk Assessments and Remediation Strategies.
- Developing cost-effective remediation solutions for contaminated land projects.
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior consultants.
- Liaising with clients, regulators, contractors and multidisciplinary design teams.
- Preparing fee proposals, project programmes and cost estimates.
- Managing project budgets and ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Supporting business development activities and maintaining strong client relationships.
- Ensuring compliance with current environmental legislation, industry guidance and health and safety standards.
Requirements
- Degree in Geology, Environmental Science, Engineering Geology or a related discipline.
- Significant experience within a geoenvironmental or contaminated land consultancy.
- Strong understanding of UK contaminated land legislation and risk assessment methodologies.
- Experience managing Phase I and Phase II site investigations.
- Excellent report writing and technical review skills.
- Experience mentoring junior team members.
- Commercial awareness and the ability to manage client relationships.
- Full UK driving licence.
