Are you an experienced Geotechnical Engineer ready to take the next step in your career? We are looking for a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing Ipswich office and play a leading role in delivering a diverse portfolio of geotechnical and geoenvironmental projects across the UK.
This is an excellent opportunity to join a respected consultancy with a strong reputation for technical excellence, working on projects ranging from residential and commercial developments to major infrastructure schemes. You'll have the chance to influence project delivery, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the continued growth of the business.
The Role
As a Senior Geotechnical Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Managing geotechnical projects from inception through to completion
- Designing and supervising ground investigations
- Interpreting geotechnical data and producing high-quality technical reports
- Undertaking foundation, retaining wall, slope stability, and earthworks assessments
- Providing technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and engineering geologists
- Liaising directly with clients, contractors, and stakeholders
- Preparing fee proposals and supporting business development activities
- Ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest technical standards
Requirements
- Degree in Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Engineering Geology, or a related discipline
- Typically 5+ years' experience within a geotechnical consultancy environment
- Strong understanding of UK geotechnical design standards and ground investigation practices
- Experience managing projects and client relationships
- Proficiency in geotechnical design software would be advantageous
- Excellent technical reporting and communication skills
- Working towards or holding Chartered status (ICE or Geological Society) would be beneficial
- Full UK driving licence
