Senior IT Data Lead / PM
Location: UK, Remote with Travel
Contract: 6+ Months with Potential extension
About the Opportunity
We are recruiting a Senior IT Data Lead / PM on behalf of a major international FMCG company running a high-complexity Plant & Brand transformation programme across multiple European countries. This is a critical, hands-on leadership role – not a functional SAP role, not a business analyst position, and not a standard data management job.
You will own the entire data workstream from strategy through to production cutover, leading cross-functional teams and navigating a genuinely complex multi-system, multi-country landscape under tight timelines with zero tolerance for error.
If your SAP experience is primarily functional configuration, support or project management without deep data migration delivery – this role is not the right fit.
What You Will Be Doing
- Defining and owning the end-to-end Data Migration Strategy – object scoping, extraction criteria, cleansing rules, transformation logic and validation approach across SAP ECC, EWM, PLM, MDG, APO and non-SAP systems
- Building and maintaining the Data Object Scope Master as the single source of truth across all data objects, source systems and migration methods
- Leading data profiling and quality assessment using Syniti ADMM or equivalent ETL tooling – understanding data volumes, quality gaps and fitness for migration before a single record moves
- Designing and executing data cleansing strategies including relevancy filtering, inactive record retirement, PII masking and GDPR-compliant data handling
- Managing the full ETL cycle – extraction, transformation and load – across structured and unstructured data from multiple systems into target environments
- Owning the Data Migration Cutover Plan with multiple iterative rehearsal cycles, progressive quality gates and business sign-off at each stage
- Leading data validation and reconciliation at every phase – scope, transformation, load and extended business health checks post-migration
- Ensuring full compliance with GDPR, data privacy, GMP, food safety and information security regulations throughout.
What You Must Bring
- 8-12 years of hands-on experience in IT data management with a clear focus on data migration, ETL delivery and data quality in large-scale ERP environments – not functional SAP roles
- Deep SAP ECC6 data model expertise – you must know the underlying data structures, tables and transaction models across MM, SD, FI/CO, PP, PM, WM/EWM, MDG and PLM; not just functional process knowledge
- SAP ECC to Microsoft Dynamics migration experience – this is a non-negotiable, critical requirement. If you have not delivered a cross-ERP migration from SAP to MS Dynamics F&O or Business Central, please do not apply
- SAP ECC to SAP S/4HANA migration experience including Business Partner conversion and data model differences
- Proven hands-on experience with Syniti ADMM (formerly DSP/Cransoft), SAP Migration Cockpit, LSMW or equivalent enterprise ETL platforms – you must have used these tools to deliver migrations, not just overseen teams that did
- Strong understanding of master data domains at a technical level – Material Master, Customer Master, Vendor Master, BOM, Pricing Conditions, Financial Master Data, Plant Maintenance objects
- Experience managing data cutover plans with multiple iterative rehearsal cycles, dry runs and production go-live coordination
- Proven delivery in FMCG, CPG or manufacturing environments where data errors directly impact production operations.
