Senior Platform Owner | £600-650 p/day (Outside IR35) | Fully remote (London base) | 3 month contract (initially) | PHP platform/ AWS infrastructure
We're looking for a strong Senior Platform Owner to take ownership of a mature PHP platform and its AWS infrastructure. This is a hands on role for someone who thrives on owning production systems, solving complex technical problems and making platforms stable.
We need an expert contractor who can hit the ground running from day one, take ownership, make decisions and drive delivery with minimal supervision
What you'll be doing:
- Taking ownership of a production PHP/Laravel platform and its AWS infrastructure.
- Managing and improving AWS services including EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, IAM, networking, monitoring and backups.
- Reviewing, troubleshooting and enhancing an existing Laravel codebase
- Managing CI/CD pipelines and improving deployment processes
- Introducing automated testing for critical user journeys
Technical Requirements
- Expert-level PHP and Laravel experience (this needs to be strong!)
- Proven ownership of production AWS environments
- Strong infrastructure knowledge across IAM, networking, EC2, RDS, S3, CloudFront, monitoring and backups
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines
Desirable
- Next.js / TypeScript experience.
- Terraform or Infrastructure as Code experience.
