Senior Ecologist

A leading environmental consultancy is looking to appoint a Senior Ecologist to join its growing ecology division in Cambridge. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced ecology professional to take on a varied role within a successful consultancy delivering environmental advice across residential, commercial, infrastructure, energy and conservation projects. You'll work as part of a multidisciplinary team, taking ownership of projects while helping to shape the continued growth of the ecology department.

The role:
- Lead ecological surveys, site inspections and habitat assessments
- Produce technical reports, impact assessments and mitigation strategies
- Manage projects from quotation through to successful completion
- Build strong relationships with clients, planners and external stakeholders
- Support, mentor and review the work of junior ecologists
- Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget and to a high technical standard
Requirements:
- Significant experience within ecological consultancy
- Proven ability to manage multiple ecological projects simultaneously
- Strong technical report writing and communication skills
- CIEEM membership, with chartered status or protected species licences desirable
- Comprehensive knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and planning policy
- Full UK driving licence
- Full right to work in the UK
- Must live within a reasonable commuting distance of the Cambridge office
- Willingness to travel for site work and client meetings as required
