Job Title: Senior Planner Location: Beaconsfield
Penguin Recruitment is delighted to be supporting a growing independent planning consultancy in their search for a Senior Planner to join their team in Beaconsfield.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Senior Planner to join a close-knit consultancy working across a varied portfolio of residential and bespoke planning projects. The successful candidate will play a key role in project delivery, client management, and strategic planning advice, with particular exposure to planning policy matters, domestic extensions, and Green Belt developments.
THE ROLE
As a Senior Planner, you will take ownership of planning projects from initial appraisal through to submission, negotiation, and determination.
You will work closely with private clients, developers, and Local Planning Authorities, providing expert planning advice across a range of planning applications and policy-related matters. This role offers excellent project responsibility and the opportunity to make a genuine impact within a growing consultancy environment.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
* Leading and managing planning applications and appeals across a range of development projects * Preparing and reviewing planning statements and supporting documentation * Advising clients on planning policy matters and development opportunities * Managing applications relating to domestic extensions and Green Belt developments * Undertaking site appraisals and development feasibility assessments * Liaising with Local Planning Authorities, consultees, and key stakeholders * Managing client relationships and acting as a key point of contact * Supporting business development and contributing to the continued growth of the consultancy
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
* RTPI accredited degree in Town Planning or related discipline * MRTPI qualified or working towards Chartership * Approximately 2-3 years' planning experience within a consultancy or local authority environment * Experience dealing with planning policy matters * Experience managing domestic extension applications and Green Belt projects * Excellent understanding of the UK planning system and planning policy * Strong written, verbal, and client-facing communication skills * Proactive, commercially aware, and able to manage projects independently
