K.A.G Recruitment are delighted to bring you a new and exclusive opportunity for a SeniorProduction Manager to join our client, one of Europe's leading privately-owned food processors, at their site in Glasgow.

Position: Senior Production Manager

Location: Glasgow (G33)

Salary : £50 – £55,000 (DOE)

Hours of Work: Monday to Friday – 14:30 – 23:30 (flexibility to meet business needs)

Reporting to: Operations Manager

Purpose of the Role

As Senior Production Manager you will report directly to the Operations Manager and are responsible for delivering business value, improving customer service and driving employee performance across two production halls. The role ensures targets are achieved and continuously improved while maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, GMP and health and safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set clear standards and expectations across the production teams.
  • Drive performance in health and safety, food safety, product quality and customer specifications.
  • Ensure process compliance, specification adherence and full traceability.
  • Manage service levels, labour costs and resource planning.
  • Lead structured meetings, communication and escalation processes.
  • Develop team capability through performance management, succession planning, training and skills development.
  • Manage employee rotation, holidays and absence.
  • Monitor and improve KPI performance, including yield, giveaway, labour and waste.
  • Ensure the correct use of systems and hardware, including Innova, Piranha and Shire.
  • Promote consistent ways of working and continuous improvement across the operation.

Skills & Qualifications

You will have experience managing a food manufacturing facility and working to BRC standards, with significant leadership and people management experience. You will possess excellent spoken and written English, strong numeracy skills and attention to detail, and be an effective leader who is adaptable, quick to learn and able to support the development of others.

A Food Hygiene qualification equivalent to Level 3 and HACCP certification are essential.
