Overview
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Senior Property Services Operative / Technician to carry out high-quality repairs and maintenance across residential properties.
This is a hands-on role where you will also act as a technical support point for colleagues, helping to improve team performance, resolve complex repairs, and enhance the overall customer experience.
Key Responsibilities
Repairs & Maintenance
- Carry out high-quality repairs and improvement works in occupied and void properties
- Diagnose faults accurately and complete work efficiently to minimise repeat visits
- Deliver cost-effective solutions while maintaining excellent workmanship
Customer Experience
- Provide a professional, customer-first service at all times
- Clearly explain repairs, diagnoses and next steps to residents
- Handle complex or urgent repair issues with confidence
Technical Support & Team Contribution
- Support and mentor colleagues with technical queries
- Share knowledge and help improve team capability
- Assist with quality checks and continuous improvement initiatives
Operations & Compliance
- Follow health & safety regulations and safe working practices
- Use handheld systems to log jobs, materials, and progress
- Maintain van stock, tools, and equipment
- Work collaboratively with internal teams and contractors
Additional Duties
- Participate in out-of-hours emergency rota
- Carry out inspections and quality control checks
- Identify and escalate safeguarding or property concerns
Requirements
- Proven experience in a relevant trade within a customer-focused environment
- Relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ/C&G in Carpentry, Plumbing, or Electrical)
- Multi-skilled in general maintenance (e.g. plastering, painting)
- Strong communication skills with the ability to explain technical issues clearly
- Good understanding of health & safety regulations
- Full, clean driving licence
