Senior Quantity Surveyor
Location: Remote (UK) with ad-hoc visits to UK-based US Air Force sites (e.g., Lakenheath/Feltwell, Mildenhall, Fairford, Croughton, Menwith/Fylingdales and others)
Rate: Circa £65–£70 per hour (Umbrella)

Overview
We’re supporting an established Defence & Security client delivering the QSSP Programme for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation (DIO). We’re looking for experienced Senior Quantity Surveyors / Commercial Professionals to join a high-performing team focused on cost efficiency, contract compliance, and commercial assurance across a varied portfolio of infrastructure works.
This is a remote-first contract, with occasional on-site presence required at key bases.
What you’ll be doing
You’ll provide pre- and post-contract QS / commercial support, including:
- Estimating and cost planning
- Procurement support and cost assurance
- Commercial management and financial control across multiple projects
- Ensuring NEC3 compliance, identifying cost efficiencies and savings
- Stakeholder engagement within an embedded (often co-located) client team environment
- (Depending on experience) leading workstreams/teams and mentoring colleagues
What we’re looking for
Essential:
- Proven experience in Quantity Surveying / Commercial Management (senior level)
- Strong working knowledge of NEC3 contracts
- SC Clearance (must be in place/obtainable and required upon application)
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with multiple stakeholders
Desirable:
- MRICS / AssocRICS (or working towards)
- Background in infrastructure / public sector / defence environments
- Tools exposure such as CostX and/or CEMAR
- Leadership/mentoring experience
