Senior R&D Scientist – Immunohistochemistry
Location – Newcastle (On-site position)
Sector – Diagnostics
Salary – c£45,000 (Dependent on experience)
Our client is a global Leader in health diagnostic tools and services, specialising in providing easy-to-use diagnostics to improve patients’ lives.
They are now seeking an experienced R&D Scientist to contribute their expertise in Immunohistochemistry (IHC) and assay development to support in New Product Development.
The role:
As part of an established R&D team, the Senior R&D Scientist is responsible for leading independent research projects for the successful development of new diagnostic assays.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and deliver independent research projects while working collaborative with other departments
- Use Immunohistochemistry experience to design, perform, and interpret research experiments.
- Support the wider R&D group with the development of new diagnostic products
- Work in-line with regulatory and quality standards within the diagnostic sector.
Suitable Applicants:
Applicants will enjoy working in a practical R&D environment and be able to show prior experience supporting R&D projects to successful delivery.
Required experience includes:
- Prior industry experience working within R&D projects supporting diagnostic development
- Good knowledge and practical experience with IHC and molecular biology techniques
- Direct experience working with IVD development and design control would be beneficial
- Prior experience working in a regulated environment (ISO13485, IVDR)
- Educated to PhD (or equivalent industry experience) in a relevant scientific discipline
